Mother Earth Heals
While the coronavirus weighs heavy across the globe, Mother Earth begins to heal from the lack of industrialization. And while we are overwhelmed and everything feels daunting; we must remember to appreciate the positive and beautiful things happening in the wake of this pandemic.
Some things happening around the world…
The Return of Wildlife.
For the first time in 60+ years, the water running through the Venice Canals is clear. Fish, dolphins and swans have been seen swimming joyfully throughout the city. In Mumbai, the lack of water traffic has led to dolphins jumping and playing in the water again. It’s as though Mother Nature has been telling us to slow down and we were finally forced to listen.
A Decrease in Pollution.
The Air Pollution above China, Italy amongst other countries has dropped by over 40% because of quarantine and factory shutdowns. This is the lowest pollution levels have been in over 3 years! What’s more is the European Space Agency has seen a decrease of 20-30% of fine particulate matter (a major air pollutant). These observations are concrete proof of the healing that has begun to sweep the earth in just a matter of weeks.
World Unity.
Moments like this can either bring people together or tear them apart and we are seeing nations across the world setting aside differences and coming together for a common goal. After working hard to rid China of it’s Coronavirus outbreak, 300 Chinese intensive-care doctors flew with supplies to Italy and began working to treat infected patients. India also sent a team of doctors to Iran to begin working on patients there. It’s through selfless acts like these that we can all heal better and more efficiently.
Through quarantine, communities have stayed united and connected by hosting group workouts, lessons and music jam sessions. All around the world people are coming out on their balconies or into their yards and connecting through distanced social activities. It’s uplifting to see people embracing one another through the power of intention, hope and positivity.
Companies that don’t usually make essential supplies are making them.
Companies like Louis Vuitton are producing both masks and hand sanitizer to be distributed across 39 hospitals in France. Zara is donating masks to health works and patients in Spain. Fiat Chrysler is producing masks out of their China based factory to be distributed worldwide. Technology entrepreneur, Elon Musk has said his companies, SpaceX and Tesla will begin making ventilators. It’s proactive decisions like this that can drastically help change the rate in which this virus continues to spread.
